Jennifer Myers has served as the executive director of athletics & recreation at York University since August 2008. Myers oversees the operation of 19 Lions interuniversity sport teams, one of the largest intramural programs in Ontario, more than 30 sport clubs, campus recreation programming for York’s 50,000+ students, the employment of almost 800 students in numerous leadership roles, and oversight of over $150 million dollars in facility infrastructure. During her tenure, she has led the department through significant management and organizational change, as well as creating new pathways for program and service delivery and facility development.
In addition to her responsibilities as executive director, Myers has been tasked to lead a campus wide conversation about well-being and how York can create pathways to encourage and promote well-being to all community members. She has presented to numerous conferences and groups regarding change management and the role of creating integrated support teams to provide foundations to success.
Myers graduated from York with a bachelor of physical education degree and a certificate in sports administration. Myers then continued her education at Western, where she received a master of arts in sports management.
